Meeting needs with relational trust.

The work of rescue on our streets

Those who are suffering on the streets can’t always get to us. So we go to them. Every day, our team heads out in 38 vehicles, serving as a lifeline, canvasing our Valley streets looking for people who are in need of assistance. Our teams distribute essential supplies, such as water and hygiene kits, and connect people to housing and recovery services. Each year, the Mission’s Street Outreach team engages thousands of men and women on the streets and places over 1,000 of them in housing or recovery programs.

  • Meeting Basic Needs
Our case managers go out in search of neighbors experiencing homelessness. We provide life-saving water, meet basic needs, and introduce people to the services the Mission and other community partners provide.

  • Building Relational Trust
Once in a while, a person is ready for life-changing help at the first engagement. Far more often it takes many interactions before trust begins to form, as our case managers return to the same locations, make connections, and meet basic needs.
  • Extending Care through Case Management
For people ready to begin their journey toward stability, case managers begin the process of removing barriers that keep them on the streets. This includes connecting them to pathways toward housing, addiction recovery, and legal assistance.

Hope Coaches are Always Stocked with Hope Totes

Every day, our Street Outreach team hands out dozens/hundreds of Hope Tote hygiene kits!

A “Hope Tote” is a bag full of specially selected hygiene items that our neighbors on the streets need the most.
