The Joy of Giving: Volunteer Opportunities

We have many great opportunities to help feed families hungry in both body and spirit; to bring joy to children in the form of simple gifts, and to bring basic necessities for hygiene that are desperately needed by many living on the street.

  • If you are interested in serving as a group of six or more, we can reserve spots for your team. Once we select and reserve your event, each member of your team needs to create their own account in order to sign up for the event.
  • Volunteer Services schedules group opportunities 30 days in advance, so now is a great time to decide how you and your group want to serve! Please contact Sharon Parker for group scheduling at
  • If you are under 18 years of age, you must complete a Youth Volunteer Authorization and Liability Release prior to serving and must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Visit to create your account. Click the "Create Account" link in the top-right corner. For questions or support, please call Volunteer Services at 602-346-3363 or email us at

Fill-A-Bag, Feed-A-Family

How does it work? Your neighbors commit to giving a small amount of food every two months, which will provide a steady supply of non-expired, nutritious food to serve those in need. We are off to a running start in Phoenix, Tempe, Buckeye, Mesa, and Fountain Hills, where a percentage of bags collected will go directly to Christ-centered food pantries in the areas of participating fellowships in this metro-wide program.  We are hoping to stir the body of Christ in unity to display the love of Jesus to our city.  If you are interested in volunteering or getting more information about Fill-A-Bag, Feed-A-Family, click here to see the info page or for more information contact Oscar Barajas at 602-346-3383 or at

Boutique Assistance

If shopping, organizing, and helping others is your thing, we have an opportunity for you! We need a few ladies to help with our client boutique at the Changing Lives Center where women can shop and trade necessities for themselves and their children. We need your assistance one to two days a week, for three to four hours each day.

BRIDGE Teachers - Men

We have a wonderful opportunity to go into the jails and provide a class on transitioning back to the outside world for inmates. Because of a connection with one of our teachers, many men find their way to hope and transformation at the Transforming Lives Center. We need men who can teach a set curriculum with a heart to reach these forgotten people looking to change their lives.

Chefs - Men

Our men are learning valuable skills in our Food Services Training track. We are seeking skilled chefs to deliver on-the-job food service training and techniques, teach cooking fundamentals, principles of food beverage, and kitchen essentials skills. Experience should include Serv-Safe Certified, hands on food service experience, common kitchen terminology and safety and sanitation. Flexible hours - Monday -Friday.

Hope for Hunger Food Bank Leads

If you haven't volunteered at the food bank yet, you are missing out! The time flies as you are building food boxes, assisting clients unloading their shopping carts, managing client flow from parking ti intake, providing great service by greeting and engaging with clients who are there for critical unmet needs - FOOD FOR THEIR FAMILIES! We need several leads who can primarily support the computer intake process and manage the flow of clients on a daily basis from 8-12pm, Monday-Thursday. One or two days per week would be amazing!
