December 2011

I’m excited for the opportunity to finally introduce myself. I’m Jay Cory, the new President and

CEO of the Phoenix Rescue Mission. I’ve been in Mission recovery work since 1989. Most recently I worked with the Atlanta Mission in various leadership roles, including interim President and Executive Vice-President—experiences that both Jerry and I feel God has used to prepare me for serving the Phoenix Rescue Mission.

Before I first met Jerry, I had heard so much about him and his work at the Phoenix Rescue Mission. When we spoke in person, it was evident that his passion for the homeless equaled his passion for our Lord. He’s a dedicated and inspired Christian who has brought about growth and built the organization.

Jerry is full-time until the end of the year to help me get up to speed, build relationships and get an in-depth understanding of how things work. We’ll be celebrating THE HOLIDAYS together, and I want you to know that we are so grateful for all you do to provide thousands of meals for the hurting and homeless who come through our doors. We hope you enjoy the holiday touches we’ve included in this issue of Inspire.

Merry Christmas, and many blessings to you and your family,

Jay Cory
President and CEO
