Easter Outreach, March 28, 2015, 7am-1pm — Volunteer positions are filling up but we STILL NEED donations to help make this event happen! Donations still needed include Fill-a-Box food boxes, Easter baskets, snow cone machine rentals, bounce house sponsorships, candy-filled Easter eggs, hot dogs, buns, and condiments for 700 children, and more! Click here to view volunteer positions available, a full list of donations needed, and a printable Easter basket and Fill-A-Box food box poster!

Hope Coach Ride-Along Opportunity – Ride Along with the Hope Coach Street Outreach Ministry! Hit the streets with Chaplain Cliff and experience the difference the Hope Coach is making in people’s lives. You can ride along, hand out life-saving supplies, and pray with the unsheltered homeless to encourage them to come into our shelter.

Hope Totes, Sack Meals, and Hygiene Packs  The Mission’s Hope Coach hits the streets six days a week providing life-saving supplies to the unsheltered homeless. We give out 100 sack meals and 50 hygiene packs every day! Click here to download instructions on making Hope Totes and click here to download instructions for Hope Sack Meals.

Meal Preparation at the Mission  Channel your inner sous chef and help our kitchen staff prepare meals for 200 plus people. On Monday through Friday, lunch prep is from 9:00-11:00 a.m. while dinner prep take place from 1:30-4:00 p.m. Breakfast prep and service are combined from 5:30-8:00 a.m. On weekends, breakfast prep and service are from 7:00-10:00 a.m. and lunch prep is from 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Food Service at the Mission – Opportunities to serve breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Mission are available to volunteers ages 14 and over (under 18 with adult supervision). On Monday through Friday, breakfast prep and service is from 5:30-8:00 a.m., lunch from 11:15 a.m.-1:00 p.m., and dinner from 4:15-6:00 p.m. On weekends, breakfast prep and service are from 7:00-10:00 a.m. and lunch service is from 12:30-3:00 p.m. Reserve your spot today!

Learning Center Tutors – Tutors are needed to lead job readiness programs including resume workshops, interview skills and preparation, financial coaching, and GED preparation, specifically math tutors with a high emphasis on algebra.

Community Market  Our free Community Market helps provide produce and other food items to needy families and individuals in the neighborhoods surrounding the Mission. We welcome individual and group volunteers to help clean, package and organize produce and other food items to give away. We need help packing food boxes every Monday from 1:00 p.m.4:00 p.m. to be distributed at the Market on Tuesday.

Overnight Security Monitors – Overnight security positions are available nightly from 9:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m. Volunteers can be married couples or two people of the same gender. You will be stationed in our Mission Security Office, primarily watching monitors.


Changing Lives Center Opportunities

To become a part of what is happening at the Changing Lives Center and volunteer, fill out our online Volunteer Application or contact Volunteer Services at (602)346-3363 or volunteer@phoenixrescuemission.org. Most women’s center volunteer opportunities are restricted to women or married couples.

Childcare at the Changing Lives Center – If you would love to rock a baby, teach a two year-old his ABC’s, or spend some quality time with amazing kids, then working with the CLC Children’s Department is for you. Opportunities include teacher’s assistants and child-care helpers, just to name a few.  A Level One Fingerprint Clearance and a negative TB test is required from all childcare workers.

Food Service at the CLC – Opportunities to serve breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the CLC are available to volunteers Monday – Thursday. Breakfast is from 7:00–9:00a.m., lunch from 12:00–2:00p.m., and dinner from 4:00–6:00p.m.. Volunteers are also needed on Fridays from 1:00–3:00pm to prepare sack meals for the weekends.

Female Certified Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer – If you are a certified personal trainer or aerobics instructor, please contact us.  We are looking to start regular weekly classes at the CLC.

Certified Plumbers, Electricians, and Construction Industry Professionals – We have many needs at our three facilities and are looking to create a team to help train others and service those needs.
