Phoenix Rescue Mission Ambassador Judi Butterworth has been a long time champion of our work, helping so many in need turn their lives around. In an effort to raise more awareness about our community needs and how Phoenix Rescue Mission is addressing them, Judi spearheaded a special ‘Women for Change’ luncheon with dozens of leaders across the Valley. On October 23, 2013, they came together to learn about the Changing Lives Center and to hear about a special project for involvement. Thank you Judi!
Every quarter here at Phoenix Rescue Mission, we celebrate the men and women in our programs who make the decision to follow Christ, and to show that commitment through baptism. It’s a very special time to come together and see how God is working in their lives for healing and restoration. We held our most recent baptism on October 24, 2013.
The Phoenix Rescue Mission cast the vision eight years ago to create a new center after staff members shared their concerns about watching women and their children leave our dining hall and head back out on to the streets. As more was learned, it became clear that there was a great need for a recovery center for homeless women with children. Fast forward to May 2011 when the welcome ribbon was cut, marking the official dedication of the Changing Lives Center for Women and Children! Since then, hundreds of women and children have found a place of rest, safety and restoration at the Center, and we’re continuing to expand!
